All Saints' Church
Rudston, Yorkshire, England.

THIS MONOLITH STANDING ALMOST 26FT ABOVE GROUND LEVEL
WAS HEWN AND BROUGHT HERE IN THE LATE NEOLITHIC PERIOD
POSSIBLY CIRCA 2000 BC
IT CONSISTS OF A SLAB OF MOOR CRIT CONGLOMERATE AS FOUND
IN A WIDESPREAD AREA OF THE CLEAVELEAND HILLS INLAND OF WHITBY.
It is interesting to note as elsewhere, nothing is mentioned of the Christianisation of pagan places undertaken by the Catholic Church. The age of the stone cannot be determined as being BC or AD.
